觀世音俗薩又俗稱「觀音菩薩」、「觀音媽」，是人世間救苦救難，幫助信徒消災解厄。



拜觀音的三大節日

基本上，民間有三個祭祀觀音菩薩的日子，皆出自妙善公主的傳說：



農曆二月十九日誕辰紀念日



農曆六月十九日得道紀念日



農曆九月十九日出家紀念日



由於三個日期皆為十九日，所以稱為「次九日」，是為了突顯僅次「初九」至尊天公生的地位。

另一方面，二為陰數之生，代表妙善公主女神的性別；六為陰數之中正德行，是得道月分；九為至尊之數，佛家又認為出家有無量功德，故為出家之月。
